Festus Keyamo, the spokesman for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, congratulated Desmond Elliot on winning the Surulere 1 electoral seat.
Desmond reportedly defeated the young Olumide Oworu of the Labor Party.
LP supporters, popularly known as Obidients, had vowed to vote for Oworu to defeat Desmond Elliot.
The legislator had posted on his Instagram page a video of his visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, thanking him for his support for the state assembly election.
He described Gbajabiamila as his father, mentor, leader and spokesman for the nation.
Reacting to the clip, Keyamo wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations Desmond Elliot. You prevailed over ‘these children’ at last.”
