Republican Gov. Jim Justice of West Virginia is running Thursday to run for the US Senate, posing a potential challenge against Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, one of the most vulnerable incumbents in 2024.
Justice, a former Democrat, switched political parties in 2017 and made the announcement at a rally alongside then-President Donald Trump. He has also switched parties in the past. He was previously an independent and a Republican until 2015, when he ran for governor as a Democrat.
