Highly rated Dutch star Cody Gakpo refused to rule out a transfer to Manchester United in January.
This year, the PSV striker has stood out both for his club and for the Netherlands.
With 12 goals and 15 assists in all competitions for the Eredivisie side this season, the 23-year-old has been in excellent form.
Gakpo has scored goals against Senegal and Ecuador for the Netherlands at the World Cup, replicating his performance for his club as Louis van Gaal’s side try to advance to the final round of the tournament.
Naija News remember that the Dutch striker was strongly linked to joining Erik Ten Hag’s men last summer, but the deal fell through.
However, following his recent electrifying World Cup performance and Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Old Trafford, the PSV star has been linked with numerous clubs, including United.
Gakpo says his priority is the World Cup despite current rumors about his future, although he hasn’t ruled out leaving the Philips Stadion in January entirely.
“Right now I am busy with the Dutch team. Let’s see what happens in winter. In football, everything is possible.” he said.
“I am now concentrating on the World Cup. It’s always good to hear, but I just focus here and do the best I can. I’m not ashamed of rumors. But it is a team sport, it is not about one person.
“I prefer it to be about the team. Those are nice things that people write, but that doesn’t worry me too much. I’m not surprised.
“I know what I am capable of, but it is always a challenge to reach your highest level, that is possible. I’m not there yet, I can improve on many things.” added.
