Mohammed Kailani, an All Peoples Congress (APC) stalwart, on Saturday called on opposition presidential candidates to withdraw their disputes over the February 25 presidential election.
Recall that Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and his Labor Party (LP) counterpart Peter Obi went to court to challenge the victory of APC candidate Senator Bola Tinubu.
Kailani, APC National Coordinator, Voter Education and Awareness, told NAN in Kaduna that withdrawal from litigation would make way for national unity and development.
According to him, litigants must put national interests before personal interests.
He said, “If they [Atiku and Obi] really love Nigeria, they should withdraw their cases from the court.
“Their efforts would only turn into futile efforts and would not be beneficial to us as a nation.”
And he added: “Fortunately, the president-elect [Tinubu] He had promised to lead a unifying government, a government of national unity that would give everyone a sense of belonging.”
