A video on TikTok offered an idea of how small this airport in West Virginia is, with its mini-sized baggage carousel and mile-long runway.
A TikTok user, @aboriginalscents, posted a video touring the Morgantown Municipal Airport in West Virginia. The video garnered nearly 530,000 views as of May 30.
The airport serves north central West Virginia and measures only 494 acres, making it one of the smallest airports in the United States. Compared, John F. Kennedy International Airport measures 4,930 acres.

The video began with a look at the departure area, with a small lounge where four people were patiently waiting for their flight.
Then a booth belonging to Southern Airways was shown, which is the only airline that operates flights at the airport.
Southern Airways offers daily flights from the airport to two locations: Washington Dulles Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport. Airline tickets listed online start from $29.
The TikTok also showed a clip of a pilot with a Cessna Caravan plane, one of three planes used by Southern Airways. The Cessna Caravan is a small utility aircraft built to accommodate between 10 and 12 passengers. A look at the airport mile long track was also shown in the video.
The video ended by showing the airport’s compact baggage carousel and TSA checkpoint, with the caption: “The fastest security line.”
TikTok users mocked the airport, with one user, @jrkinglol, comparing it to an “urgent care” center. Other users compared the airport to “a Lego City airport” and “the airport from Animal Crossing.”
“My doctor’s office has a bigger foyer,” TikTok user Karrjaden830 wrote.
Several users were puzzled by Southwest Airway’s use of a utility plane for flights, with one user commenting, “I’d be scared to ride in that.”
Another user, @itme, shared their favorite feature of the airport, baggage claim, writing that they “love the little carousel.”
The user who posted the video, @aboriginalscents, responded to the comment with disappointing news.
“It doesn’t work. They bring your bags to your door lol,” he wrote.
Morgantown Municipal Airport, Southern Airways and @aboriginalscents did not immediately respond to Insider’s requests for comment.
