(CNN Spanish) – The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, announced this Tuesday that on May 2 they will receive the delegations of the Colombian government and the guerrilla of the National Liberation Army (ELN) to carry out the third cycle of the bilateral dialogue table.

“We ratify our commitment to peace in Colombia, with the hope that the parties in this cycle will make progress on the agreed agenda,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

The Government of Colombia and the ELN will discuss in Cuba the incorporation of the group into politics when the violence ceases

The first round of these talks was held in Caracas at the end of 2022, and the second took place in Mexico in February.

Both parties agreed to discuss in this new round the possible incorporation of the ELN into politics once it lays down its arms, in accordance with the text that includes the agreements reached in Mexico City.

Labor Day celebrations canceled due to lack of fuel

The general secretary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, announced this Tuesday that the traditional International Workers’ Day parade, on May 1, will be replaced by a concentration on the Havana boardwalk , due to the limitations in the fuel supply, according to the official Cuban News Agency.

In conversation with the local press, he said that instead of the parade that has been held since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, a popular rally will be held in that and other places in the Cuban capital “under the principle of rationality and maximum austerity ”.

He added that they expect the visit of thousands of attendees and foreign delegates.
