Is Reverse-Flash in The Flash movie with Ezra Miller? HITC investigates with spoilers for The Flash.
There are still plenty of eagerly awaited blockbusters to sink your teeth into in 2022 and one of the biggest for the summer is The Flash, at long last.
Directed by Andy Muschietti (It, It Chapter Two), the American superhero film serves as the 13th entry in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and stars Ezra Miller in the title role of Barry Allen.
We’ve already seen some trailers for the film and significant emphasis has been placed on Michael Keaton’s return as Batman, with the actor’s legendary performance in Tim Burton films treasured more with each passing year.
As with most films in the genre, audiences are left wondering what surprises may turn up regarding the characters and the cast. With that in mind, is Reverse-Flash in The Flash a movie?
WARNING: FLASH SPOILERS
Is Reverse-Flash in The Flash movie with Ezra Miller?
Reverse Flash does not appear in the film. However, the film features a character similar to Eobard Thawne (Reverse-Flash’s real name) who is known as the Dark Flash.
Those hoping for Reverse-Flash can take solace in knowing that Dark Flash is a worthy stand-in for the previously established DC Comics character, with Ezra playing both. With this in mind, audiences won’t necessarily feel the absence of Reverse-Flash.
Actors Tom Cavanagh and Matt Letscher recently played Reverse-Flash on The CW series The Flash, so perhaps another incarnation of the character so soon would have felt all too familiar to those who watched both.
Either way, we’ve got another version of Flash originating from another timeline to mix things up in the 2023 movie; In DC Comics, the Dark Flash character is named Walter West.

‘He is a brilliant artist’
We may not get Reverse-Flash, but we do get Zod’s villainous presence back, with Michael reprising the role of Man Of Steel.
Andy [Muschietti] He came highly recommended by other friends I have who have worked with him,” Michael told Collider when what is discussed coming aboard The Flash. “Everyone who works with him just loves him. He’s very creative, I mean, very much like Zack. [Snyder] it was, and very, very visual. He is a brilliant artist.
“…I would like to work with him again, frankly, if the opportunity arises because it was a lot of fun.”
