- Egerton said he does not have Bond’s “sculptural” physique and struggles with his weight.

Despite the fact that it is rumored that he could play james link, Taron Egerton he doesn’t think he is physically suitable for the iconic part.
“I don’t think he’s the right choice for that,” Egerton said in an interview with The Telegraph posted on Saturday. “You have to be consistently statuesque to be that guy. And that’s something I still strive for. I’ve always struggled with my weight.”
In the interview, Egerton said that playing Bond “is a bit like being a brand ambassador on top of being an actor. And that could be a lot of fun in microcosm, but I’m sure I read that Barbara Broccoli said it’s a 15-year commitment.”
Barbara Broccoli, along with her half-brother Michael G. Wilson, produce the Bond franchise.
Broccoli has been outspoken in the past about casting options for the Bond film series, once saying she doesn’t envision a woman playing James Bond in the future.
“It can be any color, but it’s male.” Broccoli told Variety in 2020. “I think we should be creating new characters for women, strong female characters. I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play him. I think women are much more interesting than that.”

“It’s kind of irrelevant how I feel about it, anyway, because I can say there hasn’t been any phone calls,” Egerton said.
This isn’t the first time Egerton has shot down rumors that he would take the role of 007.
Earlier this month, Egerton said total cinema magazine that although he was never involved in discussions of playing Bond, he “would make a very willing audience member”.
