Police have arrested a man after he allegedly pistol-whipped a woman and pushed her into a car in a California neighborhood on Tuesday.
The suspect, identified by local media as William Garcia, 32dragged a woman into his silver Kia Rio before driving off in broad daylight.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD), which did not name Garcia, Announced the suspect was arrested on kidnapping and kidnapping charges.
LASD said the woman was found safe Wednesday night following the incident in Commerce, a city located approximately 8 miles from Los Angeles.
Horrifying security camera images it showed the woman, who appeared on the phone, fleeing down a residential sidewalk.
He hurried down a nearby driveway before apparently trying to hide behind a gate.
Several seconds later, the gunman pulls up in his car and confronts the woman.
She is seen walking towards the passenger side of the vehicle, indicating that the couple might know each other, before the man hits her over the head with a pistol and pushes her into the passenger side of the car.
He is seen looking around briefly before getting back in the car and driving off.

The suspect’s vehicle has been recovered as evidence, police said.
Authorities believe the possible kidnapping may be due to a “possible domestic dispute.” ABC7 reports.
“The victim was found unharmed and is currently in the custody of the sheriff’s department, pending further questioning,” LASD department manager Veronica Fantom said, according to the outlet.
