In what has been a major blow to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the remaining matches of IPL 2023. The spin-bowling all-rounder has suffered a hamstring injury, which leaves him unavailable for the remainder of the tournament.
It is unclear if the franchise will look for replacements for the 23-year-old, especially with the second half of IPL 2023 underway. However, it is a huge loss for the Sunrisers’ campaign given that the Tamil Nadu-born cricketer is one of the first names on his team’s sheet, capable of taking wickets and adding useful runs in the order.
Sundar was prolific with the ball against the Delhi Capitals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, going 4-0-28-3; bringing down David Warner, Sarfaraz Khan and Aman Khan in the same over.
