Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to the methods deployed by the Federal Government to evacuate Nigerian students from the war-prone country of Sudan.
Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Chairwoman Abike Dabiri-Erewa had tweeted on her personal Twitter account on Wednesday that: “Update from Sudan: To facilitate the transportation of students, they were put on buses in accordance with their states of origin, as our excited Student tells us here making this narration. Mercies of the trip”
However, the process does not seem to work well with some Nigerian tweeters as they shared their views in response to Dabiri-Erewa’s tweet.
@Olorogunernest said: “Why according to the state of origin? Please mom, can you explain the reason behind this logic? as @threefaceIdibia also responded rhetorically and said: “State of origin? Hey? Is there really a war in Sudan because I don’t understand it?
@omoadax also responded: “State of origin. One must always find ways to classify the Igbo for greater rejection and the other minority tribes for greater exclusion and discrimination. Una no dey pull”.
Meanwhile, only @sweetsmitholala shared a different opinion, as she supported the idea of state profiling evacuation drills.
He tweeted: “Great idea, that will ungroup the crowd immediately. The states with lower numbers will have vacant seats to help others at the end of the day. It will help with ease of documentation as time is not on our side. @abikedabiri You and your team are doing a wonderful job. Thanks Mom!
