The primary mission of every church is to prepare for the establishment of the kingdom of God on earth. This is basically done through the preaching of the word of God to humanity to obtain salvation.
It is interesting to know that some churches have carried out humanitarian services in addition to the preaching of the word of God. They are having a tremendous impact on people’s lives in different spheres.
Founded since 2002, Remnant Christian Network (RCN), an international non-denominational ministry based in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, has positively impacted lives in accordance with the God-given mandate of its president, Rev. Arome Osayi through a vision.
National Director, RCN, Rev. Daniel Ogidi, who serves as Rector of RCN Theological Seminary in an interview with reporters on Sunday in Makurdi, said: God had given Apostle Arome Osayi the mandate to build a network through from which many lives and destinies will be impacted according to the anchor script; 2 Kings 19:30 and Isaiah 37:31.
In fulfilling this mandate, the RCN founded by Apostle Osayi has touched lives in the areas of education, humanitarian service and empowerment as well as preaching the gospel that is bringing sanity and humanity to human civilization.
In the area of education, RCN has been granting scholarships to students in addition to establishing a Theological Seminary that is training believers to establish them in the truth. Along with the preaching of the gospel, the ministry owns an educational institution, the RCN Theological Seminary, where they train and form leaders in Theology with a very strong bias for the market. RCN Theological Seminary trains people not only for pulpit ministry, but to enter the marketplace and become effective transformational leaders who can change society according to Rev. Daniel Ogidi.
Established since 2015, RCN Theological Seminary has had students from all over the world, including Europe, UK and different parts of Africa; Ghana, Cameron, Mozambique and other nations on the African continent.
The seminary has two program options. First is the residency option where students come to campus to learn. The institution also has an online option that allows students to study online, especially international students.
The fundamental requirements for admission to the RCN Theological Seminary according to its Rector, Rev. Daniel Ogidi, is that a future student must profess faith in Christ as a Christian who has been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.
RCN Theological Seminary currently offers two programs; a Diploma in Theology and Ministry that requires a minimum of secondary education to be able to function and climb through rigorous academic work beyond the mere reading of the Bible. The second program is the Graduate Diploma in Theology, which requires a bachelor’s degree as a minimum, while plans are underway to introduce the Master’s program in different streams.
In an attempt to provide health services to members of the immediate community, RCN is currently installing a state-of-the-art medical center behind the ministry premises. When completed, Rev. Ogidi said the facility will meet the health needs of people both far and near at an affordable cost as part of a mission.
As an integral part of the gospel preaching campaign, RCN also performs many humanitarian services. They are very passionate about the needs of internally displaced people (IDPs), as Ogidi said, they provide supplies and welfare needs for IDPs.
Ongoing support is also provided to widows in the form of empowerment and scholarships for struggling youth so that they can acquire education.
The RCN located next to the international market, George Akume Way, Makurdi is preparing people for the kingdom of God and intervening in their needs here on earth.
