Pedro Pascal will star in the next film by barbarian director Zach Cregger Armas – Report



The Last of Us actor Pedro Pascal has apparently signed on to star in Weapons, the upcoming film from barbarian filmmaker Zach Cregger.

Barbarian’s production team, Vertigo’s Roy Lee and BoulderLight Pictures’ JD Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, will also produce Armas alongside Cregger. And Vertigo’s Miri Yoon is also joining as a producer.

There are currently no plot details available for Armas, nor is it known what Pascal’s character will be like. a report of at the beginning of this year described the project as an “interlocking horror epic of several stories”, comparing itself to Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1999 film Magnolia in terms of tone. The Hollywood Reporter also said that filming is expected to begin sometime in the fall.

Cregger teased this project last year saying that “it’s a lot more ambitious than Barbarian. It’s a lot weirder… and I don’t know if I’m going to make it.” The writer-director also shared that he’s working on a script set in the DC Universe, describing it as a “Batman-adjacent thing” that he’s “completely obsessed with.”

It was also recently reported that Pascal has joined the cast of Gladiator 2where he joins the promising pablo mezcal (Aftersun), Barry Keoughan (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Denzel Washington.
