Oscar Isaac, who plays Spider-Man 2099 in the recently released Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has suggested his friend Pedro Pascal as a possible addition to the Marvel Spider-Verse franchise. Isaac voiced the idea of him during an interview with british gqwhere he talked about the animated Spider-Man movie.
Isaac, when asked what he thought about the new additions to the Spider-Verse franchise, responded with praise for the casting directors’ ability to find the right actors for each character. However, he mentioned Pascal as a strong contender, picturing him as a “cranky old Spider-Man… Let’s find something for him”.
Interestingly, this is the second time in 2023 that Pascal has been recommended for a film franchise. Previously, Jack Black, who voiced Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, told GameSpot that Pascal would fit the character of Wario perfectly..
The Isaac and Pascal actors have gained significant recognition in the entertainment industry. Starting in early 2022, Isaac has played various characters in Marvel’s Moon Knight series, while Pascal has played Joel Miller in HBO’s adaptation of the video game The Last of Us. Pascal’s upcoming projects include a potential Gladiator sequel, alongside Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn and Denzel Washington.
