LAHORE, Islamabad (AP) — Pakistani police stormed the residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the eastern city of Lahore, arresting 30 people. Saturday’s action came amid tear gas barrages after someone opened fire from the roof of the building. Police say they intervened to remove encroachments and a blockade lifted by Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party and his defiant supporters. They say Khan’s baton-wielding supporters tried to resist the officers by throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails and that a man on the roof of Khan’s residence opened fire. Nobody was hurt. Khan is expected to appear in an Islamabad court on Saturday to face charges in a corruption case.
