Oyo State People’s Democratic Party Chairman Dayo Ogungbenro on Wednesday commiserated with the PDP in Osun State over the death of the party’s national vice president, Soji Adagunodo.
Ogungbenro, in a statement in Ibadan through the party’s publicity secretary Akeem Olatunji, described Adagunodo’s death as a shocking, painful and irreplaceable loss for the entire PDP family in the southwest.
He said: “The death of Adagunodo came to us as a heavy blow that really terrified us, especially in the South West because his wealth of experience is needed more than ever in the match now that we are about to move on. after the 2023 general elections.
“This was a man who was very active and glowing with life last week. We, therefore, cannot argue or question Almighty God, who gives and takes as he pleases.
“We deeply sympathize with the PDP government of our state under the leadership of Ademola Adeleke, as well as with the entire PDP family in the state on the passing of one of our best party men.
“We also sympathize with the PDP leadership at the national level, in the South-West area and with the entire PDP family in the state for the death of a grassroots, nationalist and grassroots politician. In fact, he will be sorely missed.
“We also sympathize with the family of the deceased, more particularly the immediate family; the wife and children and it is our fervent prayer that God gives them the strength to bear the pain of the death of his loved one and rest the deceased.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and the entire PDP family in the state during this very difficult time within our political family,” Ogungbenro said.
