The couple have been hosting the popular Netflix show since its inception in 2017. They have guided dozens of potential matches out of the pods, and some fans think it’s about time the hosts left. In an interview with People, Nick and Vanessa opened up about whether they would have found each other if they had been placed in the pods themselves. “We’ve thought about that, often. And really, I’m not just saying this for the benefit of this show, I think we would have,” she said. “We have the same birthday, we have the same passions, we have the same interests, we have the same drive. Things that motivated us.” Vanessa asked, “Would you have found me through a wall?” to which Nick replied, “I’d find you anywhere.” He continued: “I really think we would have met. I think we would have been attracted to each other. That’s what we did in life. Obviously, we knew each other.” Vanessa added: “We did it. We had to find our way to get to each other.”

A source who works on the show said daily mail about plans to oust the current hosts. “There have always been rumors about replacing them, especially now after the live reunion special, which was a complete disaster on so many levels,” the source said. “If they want to keep their grades up, there has to be a change.”
As for who will replace them, fan-favorite season 1 couple Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton are in the running to replace Vanessa and Nick. “Viewers feel a connection to Lauren and Cameron because they are authentic,” the source said. “They are kind, down-to-earth people who can really help the contestants because they have walked in their shoes. People want to relate to the hosts, and at this point they can’t relate to Vanessa or Nick.” The two have been married since they starred in the first season and are still celebrated by LIB fans today. “I appreciate how every time a new #LIB comes out they show me and @cameronreidhamilton so much love 3 years later. 🙏🏾🏾💖,” Lauren wrote in a caption. On April 18, 2023, Love is Blind fan Libby Cross created a change.org petition to eliminate Nich and Vanessa Lachey as hosts. The petition reads: “From the initial season, the hosts felt quite useless and out of place. They seem to be much more concerned with directing the most attention to themselves and their personal lives rather than focusing on the contestants actually participating in the experiment. Many enjoy the show, but it is being robbed of its full potential with Nick and Vanessa Lachey being embarrassed.” The petition continued: “Join the thousands of Love is blind fans to evolve the show into the best version of itself by removing Nick and Vanessa Lachey as hosts and replacing them with…well, literally anyone else. ” As of this writing, the petition has more than 40,000 signatures.

One person commented, “It’s time for you to take the spotlight and become a solo host from now on. @vanessalachey inserts his personal opinion into his interviews and it’s disturbing to say the least. You are meant to represent the audience and be a medium between the viewers and the cast.”
Season 4 contestant Paul Peden opened up about how he felt when the actress questioned him about why they didn’t get married. Entertainment tonight. “I was like, ‘Fuck, man.’ They kept drilling, drilling on me,” Paul told the outlet on Sunday. “I think I said my part. I think Vanessa might have had a bit of personal bias in that scenario or at least I detected it. I don’t know. But that’s just my guess based on how she continued to delve into it after I gave her my full justification for why she felt the way she did.”
He added that he “owned as much as he could” of his responsibility in the exchange, and “assumed responsibility to the fullest capacity in which I think he was obligated.” “I think he was extremely reductive in the way that they stripped away all the nuances and complexity of why I said no,” he told the outlet. “She framed herself as her, the reason I said no was that she couldn’t play a mother role and a nurturing atmosphere and whatever. That was a piece of the puzzle. It was incredibly complex, but that was the answer. That was the reason why. And that’s only a fraction of the story.”
Paul also said People, “I thought I detected a bit of personal bias there. I’m not sure what it was. And I suppose she has every right to insist on her personal biases, but she shouldn’t present herself as an objective neutral party if that’s the case,” the scientist said. “But I think it’s fair to continue with the follow-up questions. But if we’re going to go down that path, we need to be able to have a full conversation.”
Vanessa later sent Paul a bouquet of flowers that the reality star took a photo of and posted on her Instagram Story: “Thank you for acknowledging @vanessalachey’s accidental cheating,” she wrote.
