Located in the National Sports Institute in Caracas, the “José Gregorio Hernández Sports Clinic” was reopened by the Vice President of Social Affairs and Minister of Youth and Sports Mervin Maldonado.
The official stressed that this will be the main sports health center in Venezuela.
With a view to the ALBA games, this is one more space that has been remodeled and invested in medical equipment and technology, “so that it is in optimal conditions for the great sporting event of Our America,” said the website of the Venezuelan Government. .
Maldonado, for his part, tweeted that this clinic is in 100 percent condition, in terms of infrastructure, medical equipment, endowments for the professionals who work there, and supplies.
He stressed that this rebirth of the clinic is thanks to President Nicolás Maduro.
“Greater well-being for all our athletes, coaches, technicians, staff and management,” concluded the minister.
Venezuela expects around 3,500 participants among athletes, coaches and sports leaders from 11 countries for the Games that its Government rescued after 12 years without being held.
The competitions will take place in 33 sports distributed among the three venues with the largest number in Caracas (19).
