According to a new report, Lionel Messi has been offered a two-year contract worth €1 billion (£887 million) by a Saudi team.
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, the monstrous deal, if signed, would be worth double what Cristiano Ronaldo earns at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
L’Equipe also detailed how much the ‘exceptional’ offer on the table for Messi is worth, saying it amounts to a staggering €1bn over two seasons, with the option of a third.
Messi’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has been under the radar following his suspension for an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia for a trade deal.
It remains to be seen if Saudi Arabia attracts Messi, and his wife, who is keen to stay in a competitive league.
