Mercedes-Benz India announced a price increase for its entire model range from January 1, 2023. The company has decided to make an upward price revision of up to 5 percent. The company has cited rising input costs and rising logistics costs as the main reasons for the price increase. This development has led Mercedes-Benz to revise the ex-showroom price of its model range upwards. Price increase range from Rs. 1.5 lakh for the GLA to Rs. 4.5 lakhs for the S-Class 350d and Rs. 7.0 lakh for a top-end Mercedes-Maybach S580.
Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said: “Mercedes-Benz has been setting benchmarks in the luxury automotive industry in India, introducing world-class products and technologies for the most demanding customers. However, to operate a sustainable and profitable business for us and our franchise partners, a price correction is needed to offset rising cost inflationary pressures. Although we are absorbing most of the increase, Internal has no choice but to pass a portion of the increased costs on to customers. The price correction will secure the brand’s premium price positioning and continue to offer the best-in-class ownership experiences associated with Mercedes-Benz.”
Today, Mercedes-Benz India has the largest distributed network of any luxury car manufacturer and is present in 47 cities with more than 125 touch points.
