Liam Harrison promised Floyd Mayweather’s manager he’s not going to “play.”

British fighter Liam Harrison will not play if he gets the chance to fight undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr.

speaking to The MMA Superfan, “Hitman” shared that he was approached by “Money” handlers for a possible boxing matchup. He told them that he was willing to do it and made a promise to bring the heat if the plans came to fruition.

“Obviously, he won’t be a challenge like the top-tier boxers of the moment because he’s not a professional boxer anymore. He retired, wrestled in exhibitions, but I think he saw that he had a big following. The manager, when I spoke to Floyd’s manager, he said, ‘Look, you look aggressive, would you take the fight to Floyd?’ I said ‘yes, of course. I’m not here to play. I’ll take it.

liam harrison he has had a long and illustrious fighting career that has taken him to different parts of the world competing in various tournaments and organizations.

In 2018, he signed with ONE Championship and is now one of the best fighters in his division. His last fight in August saw him challenge for the ONE Muay Thai bantamweight world title against reigning world champion Nong-O Hama. He is currently awaiting word on his next fight while he recovers from injury.

Meanwhile, Mayweather retired undefeated at the age of 40 with a 50-0 record in 2017. Interestingly, his last professional fight was against mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor in a “crossover” bout. “Money” has since wrestled lucrative exhibition matches.

On a recent episode of his Kickin’ It with Liam Harrison podcast, “Hitman” underscored how his conscious effort to make things happen starting in the gym has kept him in the game for so long.

37 years harrison shared an excerpt from the episode on Instagram and captioned it with:

“All your thinking is done in the gym… the fight [you’re] just reacting… is this how you train and fight? I always say that the worst thing a boxer can do in a fight is think… you just have to react.”

harrison he had an eventful 2022 where he challenged for the ONE world bantamweight muay thai title last August against reigning world champion Nong-O Hama. Meanwhile, his matchup with Muangthai PK Saenchai in April earned him ONE’s 2022 Muay Thai Fight of the Year award.
