Indeed, it is a proud moment for the entire country to have been honored with the Guinness World Record for the highest attendance at a T20 cricket match. The Narendra Modi Stadium (also known as Motera) was renovated in 2021 and renamed in hopes of inviting “record” crowds to cricket matches at the venue.
Formerly known as the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) Stadium, the Motera Stadium has a capacity of 110,000, almost 10,000 more than the Melbourne Cricket Ground with an official capacity of 100,024.
