Idris Elba has revealed who was the best dancer at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception in May 2018.

The London-based actor also has a highly successful career in the music industry, having played Ibiza nightclubs and festivals, and was personally asked by Prince Harry to provide the entertainment for the party at Frogmore House.

The Luther actor previously revealed that it was the Duchess, 41, who provided him with a list of all the tracks that will be played on the big day.

And now he’s opened up about who moved the best on the dance floor at the event, telling ET Canada: “I I think Meghan was the one who really wanted to let it go.

‘You know, she was real… She just had a lot of fun. It was her wedding. So she had a great time.

Unknown to many, the Londoner is well known within the music industry, having played Ibiza nightclubs and festivals, and was the DJ at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.

Harry and Meghan tied the knot in front of millions of people around the world at St George’s Chapel within the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

In addition to their families, the guest list expanded to include a number of celebrities, including the Beckhams, George Clooney, and Oprah Winfrey.

And in a previous interview, Idris revealed that he thought Prince Harry was “kidding” when he offered him the job.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she opened up about how the duke came to offer her the job, saying, “So Harry and I hung out a couple of times through his father’s house.” [Prince Charles] charity, The Prince’s Trust, which helped me when I was a young actor.

“Harry came to a couple of parties I DJ’d at and he said, ‘What are you doing in [May 19]?”

The Mandela actor explained he was stunned when he was approached for the enviable role: “I didn’t say anything to him and then he asked me if I would DJ at his wedding… I was like this was a joke.”

Elsewhere, meanwhile, he has said he felt the night was one of a lot of pressure.

He said: ‘That was an amazing experience. I was selecting the music for that night, so it was a lot of pressure, but it was great. A vibe.

Speaking to ET Canada, he said the Duchess was “really letting loose” and enjoying the dance floor at the wedding reception.

Among Meghan’s requested songs for the event were Still by Dr Dre and Whitney Houston’s classic I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

In their Netflix series, Harry and Meghan shared several photos from their wedding album.

In a clip about the reception from 2018, Meghan said: “I really wanted the music to be fun.” Even our first dance.

She turns to her husband and asks: ‘Song of 1,000 dances? A thousand dances? I always make mistakes.

The Duchess sings the lyrics to the 1960s soul hit Land Of A Thousand Dances, which the couple chose for their first dance.

It is the first time that they publicly acknowledge which melody they chose.

Snaps from the event showed Meghan and Harry spinning on the dance floor, as well as dancing with friends from their star-studded guest list.

Idris’s revelation today comes after Prince Harry and Meghan declared today that Archie and Lilibet have the “birthright” to be called prince and princess in a new statement defending the decision.

The Duke and Duchess also insisted that the matter had been ‘settled for some time’ with King Charles, despite the couple revealing it yesterday.

The King is said to have told Prince Harry that his children would be allowed to be called prince and princess in a ‘private conversation’ after the Queen’s funeral last year.

But their 21-month-old daughter Lilibet saw her royal title ‘Princess’ used formally for the first time yesterday when the couple told the world she had been christened in California without Charles, Camilla, William and Kate present.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said: “Children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been resolved for some time in line with Buckingham Palace.

Sources close to the Sussexes suggested they were frustrated that Buckingham Palace did not immediately recognize Archie and Lilibet’s titles after the Queen’s death six months ago.
