Although vegan alternatives can be great, from what I’ve seen, faux fur is not a long-lasting alternative to its genuine counterpart.
Faux leather is made from plastic and can be resistant to cracks and scratches, but it will start to deteriorate over time. Faux fur won’t stretch or soften like real fur, so I wouldn’t recommend investing in it if you want durable, comfortable furniture.
If you love the look of leather and want to be cruelty free, accentuate your space with the fake things in place. Use it on something that won’t get a lot of wear, like the base of a side table or a serving tray, and keep it out of direct sunlight, moisture, and pet nails.
