Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy accepted Antonio Conte’s explanation of his tirade on Saturday, according to The Daily Mail.

How Daniel Levy has reacted to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur spiel

Conte went on an extraordinary tirade on Saturday after the game between Tottenham and Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Spurs could only draw the game 3-3 with the relegation candidates.

And Conte was not happy with his players.

The former Chelsea boss criticized his Tottenham players, calling them “selfish”and also appeared to criticize the club’s hierarchy for not winning any major trophies for years.

The Daily Mail reported that Conte has now spoken to Levy and the others on the Tottenham board.

The former Juventus and Inter Milan coach explained that his frustrations and comments were directed solely at the players and not at the board.

“It is understood that Levy accepted Conte’s version of events,” according to The Daily Mail, adding that the Tottenham president will speak to others in the coming days about the situation.

No drastic action needed

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur should not sack Antonio Conte at this point, but Daniel Levy should start putting a plan in place should he have to.

Tottenham are still in the race for the top four in the Premier League.

Just like last season, Conte could still guide Spurs to the UEFA Champions League places.

So in our opinion, just because we are now heading into the international break, Levy should not sack the Italian.
