Galaxy A14 5G gets FCC certification

Samsung is preparing the Galaxy A14 5G as its cheapest ticket to 5G connectivity next year. There have been multiple leaks and rumors about this phone in recent weeks. We already have a clear idea of what the device will have to offer. It seems that we will not have to wait much longer for its official presentation. The company has started publishing official support pages for the Galaxy A14 5G. An FCC certification also confirmed its US release.

The FCC has certified the Galaxy A14 5G under the model number SM-A146U (via). It’s the US version that we’ve previously seen in a reference listing. The latest sighting confirmed some of its rumored specs.

Samsung is equipping this budget phone with a 5000 mAh battery. Previous reports revealed that the phone will feature a 6.8-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device will run One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. It will feature a 50MP main camera on the back and a 13MP selfie camera.

Last month’s Reference entry revealed that Samsung will ship the Galaxy A14 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 700, the same chipset that powers the Galaxy A13 5G. It is an entry-level 5G processor released in early 2020.

The 7 nm SoC has two 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 CPU cores. ARM’s Mali-G57 MC2 handles graphics tasks. Rumor has it that this phone will come with an Exynos 1330 processor in some markets. Samsung can offer up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, regardless of the chipset under the hood.
