Nearly a full year after the 2022 Oscars, Rock addressed the slapstick during a live show in baltimore which was taped for his Netflix comedy special “Selective Outrage.”

“You all know what happened to me, when Suge Smith hit me,” Rock said.

“People say, ‘Did it hurt?'” he said. “He still hurts! I have ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ear.”

But I’m not a victim, baby,“She added. “You’ll never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying.”

Later in the special, he referenced the Smith’s marriage suggesting that marital struggles were the cause of Smith’s physical outburst. In 2020, Pinkett Smith confirmed that she had had what she called an “entanglement” with singer August Alsina during the breakup of her marriage to Smith. He was approached by The Smiths in an episode of “Red Table Talk”.

“His wife was [having sex with] his son’s friend. Normally I wouldn’t talk about this shit, but for some reason, [they] put that shit on the internet,” Rock said in the comedy special.

“We’ve all been fooled. None of us have been interviewed by the person we fooled on TV. She hurt him a lot more than he hurt me,” he added.

The Smiths have not publicly responded to his comments.
