England assistant manager Steve Holland has identified a player who could pose a big threat to the Three Lions when they face France in the World Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
He said England must be careful with the threat of Kylian Mbappe and look to how to stop the France international.
“I think there are a handful of players on the planet that you have to pay special attention to,” Holland told reporters.
“Messi has been one and probably still is.
“You would have to put Mbappé in that kind of category that I would suggest.
“We need to try to avoid leaving ourselves in situations where he’s as devastating as we’ve all seen. We have to try to find a way around that.”
The Paris Saint-Germain star has already scored five goals at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, including a brace against Poland in the round of 16.
