Singer and influencer Madison Beer revealed her mental health issues and suicidal thoughts on the “Drew Barrymore Show” on Wednesday, leading to the host’s shocking confession.
“I felt like I was putting on this facade and living out this role that had been assigned to me, and one day it all caught up with me,” Beer shared.
The 24-year-old, who was discovered by Justin Bieber, opened up about her challenges in her memoir “The Half of It.”
“I was fighting alone for so long and I felt like I had no one,” she said.
But once Beer realized she wasn’t the only person facing dark thoughts, she knew she had to speak up.
During the interview, Drew Barrymore revealed that he also overcame suicidal thoughts.
“I’ve been there. I’ve connected on levels that it’s hard to talk about,” he said.
In the past, Barrymore has spoken about her. child drug addiction and how he recovered.
“I don’t know if he really wanted to leave Earth. He was he so desperate that he didn’t know who else to turn to? the talk show host confessed.

Barrymore politely asked Beer about his two “attempts to escape life.”
The “Baddest” singer admitted to having been in a suicidal ideation mindset for “at least a year” and how it “became very normal [for her] think about that at the end of each day.”
“Sitting on a balcony and discussing jumping was something I did,” Beer he told barrymore. “And that’s why I’m like, ‘Was it really that important?’ Now obviously, with a lot of reflection and writing about it, obviously yes.
The influencer shared, “I always used to tell my best friend, ‘I want a temporary death,’” to escape her hectic life at the time.


Barrymore also praised Beer for being open about her troubles, asking her, “How did you find your way back?”
The singer admitted that she “went to a couple of mental health retreats, did therapy every day of the week” and “started to heal the girl in me.”
“I made the decision to live,” Beer declared. “Clearly, there is something more for me to live for.”
“Everything you just said was an incredible roller coaster of real productivity in seeking help, in self-awareness, in giving grace to others, realizing that you’re not giving it to yourself,” Barrymore said of Beer. , saying: “I love you.”


The singer has always been open about her mental health ever since she became famous. In 2020, Beer celebrated one year of being “clean of self harm” on Instagram, writing: “As of today… I am officially one year self-harm free… I never thought I would be able to say this and I am so proud of myself.”
