Details emerge of what Adamu said in protest against House speaker hopefuls over zoning

The National President of the Congress of All Progressives (APC), Abdullah Adamu has assured protesting members that party leaders will investigate their complaints about the zoning of leadership positions for the 10th National Assembly.

Adamu said this on Wednesday during his discussion with aspirants for the top positions in the National Assembly who had stormed the party secretariat to register their complaints about the zoning formula published by the party.

As previously reported by Naija NewsVice President of the 9th House of Representatives, Idris Wase and five other hopefuls on Wednesday afternoon assaulted the National Secretariat of the Congress of All Progressives (APC) with some fellow contestants for the position of speaker of the House of Representatives of the 10th Assembly.

By registering their grievances, they warned the APC of the need to avoid a repeat of the incident that produced Bukola Saraki as Senate President and Waziri Tambuwa as Speaker in 2015.

They chided the party for not consulting them before making a zoning decision.

“While I speak to you, I want to tell you categorically that none of us who are here approached us or consulted for a second to find out our opinion and thoughts on what was going to be done or what happened. First, we say on social media that any plan could come up. Unfortunately, while we were watching television, we saw the spokesman for our party stating that there was a negotiation or consultation and that is why these lists were produced. It’s unfortunate.

“This is a game that the crux is hope, it is a game that has leveraged the country. This is a party that we hope will galvanize us and lead us to an entity called Nigeria to better serve.

“It has never been done anywhere. I tell you, you are deceiving our leader, because the leader we know is not the one he is trying to show and I mean the president-elect. I don’t want to believe at this point that the president-elect is the one behind this. I don’t want to believe it.

“Why then do we have an unbalanced distribution? Is it because we from North Central are taken as slaves? Four years is not long, let’s not destroy this party before going to the next next elections. We must build this party on spirit and trust in the equitable distribution of resources. It is guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution.

“Although you have said that it is not closed, the intent now and the one sold now is that this is a closed matter because it is also on social networks. We do not want a repeat of what has happened in the past. We must not forget the Tambuwalization of what happened in the House of Representatives.

“We must not forget about the emergence of how Bukola Saraki became president of the Senate. The party as of today does not have the majority to be so arrogant, and we must take the people for granted,” He was warned.

You are fooling Tinubu

Wase added that he met with the Speaker and warned him not to mislead President-elect Bola Tinubu on the issue of the leadership of the National Assembly.

wasse said: “I want to tell this congregation, sir, what I asked the Speaker at one of our meetings with him. I asked him, what makes you think that what you have done will stand the test of time?

“It has never been done anywhere. I tell you, you are deceiving our leader, because the leader we know is not the one he is trying to show and I mean the president-elect. I don’t want to believe at this point that the president-elect is the one behind this. I don’t want to believe it.

“Why then do we have an unbalanced distribution? Is it because we from North Central are taken as slaves? Four years is not long, let’s not destroy this party before going to the next next elections. We must build this party on spirit and trust in the equitable distribution of resources. It is guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution.”

Adamu responds

After hearing their complaints, the APC chairman thanked them for speaking out and assured them that their positions would be brought before the party’s National Labor Committee (NWC).

However, he pleaded with them to give the party leadership a little time.

Adamu said: “If I know anything, I know it better from your various performances. As party leaders, you are part of the people who elected us; we cannot stop listening to you, we cannot but try to understand you, we cannot but try to live the article of faith of our great feast. We have heard you, we do not intend to open discussions with you at this time regarding your submissions.

“Until we agree, we are going to change; If we don’t agree, we won’t change. Like some of you who heard a statement from this office, we made it very clear that we would strive to do more consultation so that we could bring as many members of the great party with us.

“There is nothing we can do that cannot be challenged here and there, but we are able to do our best to consult with people giving them their right to a fair hearing before we can say whether or not we are changing positions. changing positions. So, I want to thank you for coming. And you didn’t come with this kind of “underground wuruwuru” but you chose to come very openly, very directly in broad daylight and I hope this is a party and the turnout is more than just the NWC here.

“Nigerians will better listen to what we have just said. I beg you in good conscience to give us a little time to better view your presentation and to open our ears and eyes to hear more and see more before we can conclude your presentation and the outcome. for that I thank you for your approach.

“Roughly important, you should know that this is a party, you organize and you are here and you did not follow the back door to talk to us; you have come directly to us. I, on behalf of my colleagues, thank you and want to assure you that God in his infinite mercy will guide us to ensure that we do what is acceptable to all.”
