Destiny 2’s New Weapon Swap Delay Will Be Ticked Back Soon

As part of the newest fate 2 patch, Bungie implemented a limitation on weapon swapping to stop an exploit that allowed players to deal much more damage than intended. But the end result for some players, even those who don’t use the exploit, can be a frustrating window where you can’t fire your weapon. Bungie has now provided more details as to why it made the change and assured fans that it will reduce that delay.

The shotgun feat involved attacking a boss, opening your inventory, switching from a slug shotgun to another shotgun (most notably, the fourth horseman), and then unload it on an enemy. Doing this correctly and in the right circumstances could absolutely wipe out boss enemies in the blink of an eye, rather than potentially multi-minute encounters. This has been known for at least a couple of weeks, as seen in this video:

To prevent this, patch 7.0.5.3 implemented a delay after swapping a weapon in your inventory: for two seconds after the swap is done, the new weapon cannot be fired. This effectively undermines those trying to use the exploit, but it’s also annoying to switch a weapon and then have to stand still, not firing a weapon for a full two seconds. Ultimately, it is an issue that will only affect a relatively small group of players, as this type of behavior is not common for many people, due to the need for a fast internet connection and a fast PC. But Bungie has now explained more about why the change was made, saying that the shotgun exploit wasn’t the only issue that needed to be addressed.

“[T]or safely fix the underlying issue that we needed to introduce a global fire delay when swapping weapons through the inventory screen,” the Destiny 2 development team said in a series of posts. tweets. “Due to network differences between players and environments, we could not guarantee that the shortest delay would fix the exploit.”

However, with the two second delay, he says that he now has enough information to reduce this delay to one second. That change will be introduced “shortly after” the launch of Season 21, which is scheduled for May 23.

you can also wait season of the deepas it is called, to make many other changes and additions, including revisions to a lot of exotic armor, new ways to get exotic armor and craftable weapons, new strand aspectsand more.
