Nigerian artist D’Banj has been arrested and detained by the Independent Commission on Corrupt Practices and Other Offences, ICPC.

Born Dapo Oyebanjo, also known in the music scene as D’Banj, is said to have been arrested on charges of fraud and other crimes.

D’Banj was reportedly colluding with some government officials to divert funds for the government’s youth empowerment initiative, N-Power. D’Banj is said to have worked with government officials to introduce phantom payees onto the scheme’s payroll where they siphoned off millions of Naira in the process.

However, money diverted from the scheme was said to have been transferred to an account that was linked to D’Banj.

According to a source, D’Banj has refused to be questioned by ICPC on the excuse that he traveled abroad and also acted outside the country until ICPC issued a warrant for his arrest anywhere in Nigeria and abroad. , forcing him to appear at the commission office on Tuesday.
