The founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, suffered a stroke a few months ago and is currently recovering from the illness.
Naija News reported that netizens recently expressed concern about a recent image of Pastor Biodun, looking pale.
In the photo, Pastor B, as he is affectionately called, is seen with his wife, Modele, and other members of the church who were in Old Trafford, Manchester, England.
After the images surfaced online, people took to the comment section to ask about Fatoyinbo’s health, but the church disabled the comment section of the post.
we are rejoicing
A source in Lagos who spoke to Naija News confirmed that the clergyman has been ill for a while and has not been ministering in church services.
According to the source, the church is currently celebrating that Pastor Biodun is now able to stand up and travel out of the country.
The source said: “Most of you don’t know that Pastor Biodun was sick. For over 4 months he didn’t preach in church…he didn’t come at all…what everyone sees now is our own celebration that he can bear to travel that far.
“We rejoice in the battle that God has done…He didn’t leave Naija oooo…He only traveled to Manchester last week”
Earlier, the self-proclaimed investigator, journalist Kemi Olunloyo, in a social media post, said that Pastor Biodun suffered a partial stroke this year.
She wrote: “Pastor Bidoun Fatonyin suffered a partial stroke earlier this year 2022. I understand that Fatoyinbo is gradually recovering and is about to open COZA Manchester, UK tomorrow 27th November 2022 and the one in Birmingham, UK has just opened. Congratulations and I wish you good health”
Sharing an update on the two new branches of his church opening outside of Nigeria, Kemi wrote: “Pastor @biodunfatoyinbo is now preaching at the NEW @cozamanchester which opened today. He has visibly lost weight but God is giving him STRENGTH. He is a son of God and a servant of the Almighty.”
