Leading candidate for the Speaker’s position in the 10th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Muktar Betera Aliyu visited President Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to gain his support and endorsement.
The representative of Biu/Bayo/Shani and the Kwaya Kusar federal constituency of Borno State has been soliciting support for his presidential bid with party members, elected members, former legislators and indeed stakeholders supporting the legislator. whom they described as a man of the people.
His campaign and consultation with the president-elect is one of many consultations he has undertaken in the past three months before taking office in June.
In a video made available by his campaign media office on Wednesday morning, the president-elect personally held the Hon. Betara’s hand as he led him to the inner room for discussions.
Betara, who currently chairs the House Appropriation Committee, had exchanged warm compliments with the incoming Commander-in-Chief shortly after a few photo ops.
Betera’s consultation visit to the president-elect took place at his new official residence at the Abuja Defense House, after the latter’s return from vacations and the minor Muslim Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Also seen in the video alongside Betara were outgoing Senate President Senator Ahmad Lawan, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and a host of other president-elect loyalists.
