Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana is said to have been sent home after the World Cup after an argument with coach Rigobert Song at the training site.
Onana started for Cameroon in their 1-0 loss to Switzerland last week, but was not in Monday’s matchday squad against Serbia.
It was later revealed that Onana was involved in a feud with Song over the weekend over the team’s style of play. It has been reported that Song wanted the Inter Milan goalkeeper to play more direct and not take risks near his own goal.
Backup goalkeeper Devis Epassy started against Serbia and Song has told Onana, who has made 35 appearances for his country, to leave the Cameroon camp.
Onana has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League and the 26-year-old joined Inter on a free transfer from Ajax over the summer.
Cameroon went into their match against Serbia knowing they would be knocked out of the World Cup with one game to spare if they lose and Brazil avoid defeat against Switzerland later on. Their last Group G match is against Brazil on Friday.
