Benue Guber: Ortom loses the voting units of the Government Chamber to APC


Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom lost both voting units at the Benue State Government House in Makurdi, the state capital, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday.

Ortom’s anointed candidate and the standard-bearer of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP in the ongoing gubernatorial elections, Eng. Titus Uba is running against Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

While Alia, a suspended Catholic priest, obtained 130 votes, Titus Uba obtained 43 votes at voting table 011 of the Theater of the Arts, Government House.

Similarly, at protocol table 022, the APC candidate obtained 36 votes while the PDP obtained 10 votes.

Governor Ortom, who is expected to complete his second term in May 2023, is one of seven governors who lost their Senate bids in the recently concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.
