Ben McKenzie, who played Ryan Atwood in the early 2000s drama “The OC,” joked that he’s a bad father because he’s rewatching the gripping series with his 7-year-old daughter.
“I’m not good at parenting” McKenzie wrote on Twitter on Wednesdaywith a link to an Entertainment Weekly article revealing the rewatch.

McKenzie appeared in the final episode of the “Welcome to the OC, Bitches” podcast, hosted by “The OC” co-stars Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke this week and reflected on the show, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
“I haven’t been working for the last two years because I’ve been doing this stupid book thing, so they think their mom is cool because she’s in movies, but they’re not aware of my work,” McKenzie said. of their children
“So I let Frances watch ‘The OC’ at age 7… bad idea, bad idea. She, of course, loves it, loves it,” McKenzie said.
“I had to cut it after two episodes because I was like, ‘My God, I forgot to smoke,'” he added. “I remembered the drink. And there’s cocaine.”
He added that Frances really wants to keep seeing him and that it’s “adorable and really weird to see him with your daughter.”
