Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer transfer window. according to Bild journalist Christian Falk on CaughtOffSide.
Falk has reported that Arsenal are among the clubs looking for the 21-year-old Dutch centre-back.
The German journalist has claimed that Manchester City are also interested in the youngster, who is valued at 30 million euros (26.5 million pounds sterling).
Falk has also outlined the young man’s attributes in his report.
van deven signed a new contract with Wolfsburg earlier this month that will see him stay at the German club until 2027.
Arsenal linked with Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven
Falk wrote: “The player is talented and very fast for a centre-back: 35.9 km/h; that’s very fast for such a player.
He has a contract until 2027 and does not have a termination clause, but Wolfsburg would be willing to talk if they receive an offer of 30 million euros.
“The player himself has said that he has no problem staying for another year, but he has also mentioned that he is open to moving to Spain and the Premier League. So he’s already thinking about his future.
“Many clubs are looking for him at the moment, it is a very long list; Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma, AC Milan… as you can see, it is a very attractive option.
“It’s not that I feel like he has to go this summer, but I think if he maintains the quality of his performances this season, next summer one of these clubs will be prepared to pay what Wolfsburg are looking for.”
Could a summer transfer happen?
In our opinion, Arsenal could sign Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer transfer window.
Yes, the 21-year-old has signed a new contract, but that doesn’t really mean anything, expect Wolfsburg to demand a decent transfer fee.
And if that’s £26.5m, then it’s quite possible Arsenal could land the Dutchman if they manage to convince him to move into Emirates Stadium before the other teams looking for him.
In other news, AC Milan could fight with Inter over the transfer of Dele Alli after the man’s loan from Everton to Besiktas
