The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River state on Wednesday suspended the state’s Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Mr. Ekpenyong Iso.
Iso was suspended for alleged anti-partisan activities and embezzlement.
The suspension was contained in a statement co-signed on Wednesday in Calabar by the Chairman of District 8, Mr. Kingsley Ekpe, and the Registrar, Mr. Gilbert Bassey, respectively.
“His suspension is based on the recommendations of the disciplinary and investigative committee established to investigate the petition for misappropriation of party funds and anti-party activities filed against him.
“Accordingly, during the processing of this suspension, which takes effect immediately, you must stay away from all party activities,” the statement read.
Reacting to the suspension, he denied the accusation saying he did not mismanage the funds during the election.
He said that his alleged suspension was written by some “unscrupulous people, and the accusations are completely false.
He added that the party’s district executive would meet soon to refute the statement because there is no substance to the claims.
