Ten people posing as New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) poll watchers in the ongoing elections for governor and State House of Assembly have been detained in the Fagge local government area of Kano state.
It was deduced that the arrest occurred when voters are ready to exercise their right to vote to elect a governor and members of the state House of Assembly.
The fake poll watchers were seen wearing a brown jacket marked Election Observers.
However, curious people in the voting unit where the arrest was made became apprehensive, and when confronted, the watchers were found to be fake.
The report says that he caught the attention of the policemen on duty at the voting unit and they were stopped by the police and a good Samaritan.
At the time of completing this report, the fake poll watchers were said to have been taken to Bompai Police Headquarters for questioning.
